About Us

Wayne Barnett co-founder of HearOs Wear Magnets™

HearOs Wear Magnets™ was born from a real journey of courage.

For most of my life, I’ve lived with tinnitus, vertigo, Ménière’s disease, BPPV, profound sensorineural hearing loss in both ears, and an acoustic neuroma.

I’ve had wonderful days and terrible days, but with the support of my family, my doctors, audiologists and a stubborn determination not to give up, I’ve persevered.

In April 2025, I made the decision to receive a cochlear implant.

This site — and this entire brand — is dedicated to the brave and courageous people who turn to technology to reclaim their hearing, and to anyone who may be considering cochlear implant surgery but hasn’t yet taken that step.

My journey officially began on September 11th, the day I received my implant.
What started as one man’s medical challenge quickly became a powerful story of courage, healing, and transformation.

HearOs Wear Magnets™ was created by myself and my wife, Karen — co-founders, partners, and lifelong companions — who built this site together with love, hope, and a mission to uplift others on their own hearing journeys.

What began as a deeply personal chapter for us has grown into a community for anyone seeking strength, connection, and understanding.

Our goal is to celebrate every HearO — from parents learning about cochlear implants for their children, to adults rediscovering sound, music, laughter, and everyday conversation later in life.

You can follow my progress in My Journal, where I share updates, insights, and the emotional side of relearning sound.
